Meet Sam
Founder & Speech-Language Pathologist
I’m a licensed speech-language pathologist and the founder of Words at Play Speech & Language Therapy, PLLC. I believe that every child deserves to feel heard and understood, no matter how they communicate. Since earning my master’s degree in 2018, I’ve worked with babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children, supporting their communication in ways that feel natural, engaging, and tailored to their needs.
My approach is play-based and flexible—because no two kids are the same! I also work closely with families to make day-to-day communication feel easier and more natural at home.
Designed with Kids in Mind
Therapy should never feel like a chore—especially for kids! My sessions are designed to keep children engaged and motivated, allowing them to enjoy learning while building essential skills. I meet each child where they are and help build their skills step by step in a way that makes sense for them.
For younger children, I use structured play and child-led activities to build foundational communication skills naturally. When therapy looks like play, we’re doing it right!
For older children, I improve speech and language skills through engaging games and hands-on activities, incorporating academic support when developmentally appropriate.
Collaborating for Success
Caregivers are part of the process—I want families to feel heard, valued, and involved. I always welcome feedback and do my best to ensure therapy benefits not just the child, but the family as a whole. My goal is to empower you to confidently support your child’s communication beyond our sessions.
If you’re looking for a speech-language therapist who values play, connection, and making communication easier for you and your child, I’d love to help!
